A state senator is working on getting rid of a stench in Rutherford County. The 400 acre privately operated Middle Point landfill is expected to fill up in less than 10 years.
State Senator Jim Tracy has noticed the smell. He wants the Tennessee Department of Enviornment and Conservation to do something about it.
"From talking to the citizens last week, they're very concerned about the smell," Tracy said. "I gave TDEC 30 days to go out evaluate it, meet with the company and do everything they can to cut down on the smell."
