Casella Waste Systems Buys Massachusetts Hauler

Rutland, Vt.-based Casella Waste Systems has purchased Massachusetts-based waste hauler Daley & Sons Trucking for nearly $1 million.

Daley & Sons trucking has been a family-run operation since 1971. The company, which serves approximately 3,500 residential and business customers, will reportedly remain under local management.

Moving forward, Casella will handle all billing information and correspondence.

Loyal customers of Daley & Sons Trucking hardly will notice that the local trash hauler has been sold for nearly $1 million to a regional waste management firm in Vermont.

Casella Waste Systems Inc. in Rutland recently spent $963,800 to buy Daley & Sons Trucking operating at 1185 Pleasant St. (Route 102), according to legal documents.

Daley & Sons co-owner Bob Daley wrote to his approximately 3,500 residential and business patrons that the sale won't affect their service. He said the family-run firm his father, Nelson Daley Sr., formed in 1971 will remain under local management.
