Shredder salesmen, you may have a new client. In a case of life imitating art (and we use that term loosely), “Desperate Housewives” star Marcia Cross is trying to reclaim a cache of sensitive personal material inadvertently thrown in the trash and later salvaged by a California sanitation worker. The trove includes financial documents and more than 200 candid photos of the 44-year-old actress, including shots of her showering outside in the nude.
Copyright laws prevent publication of the photos in the United States, but David Hans Schmidt, an agent retained by the collection company who found the material, says they plan to sell the photos to the highest bidder, perhaps even Cross herself. Schmidt says his intention is to generate money for his client, not to embarrass Cross.
Nevertheless, “If you're wondering about Marcia's natural hair color,” he teases, “I've got the answer.”
