Yakima Area Landfill's Request for Expansion Met With Hesitation

A landfill near Yakima, Washington is proposing an expansion to continue operating. The idea is not being received well by neighbors. Worrying about potential environmental impacts, their concerns have been taken note of by regulatory authorities. Shawn Magee, director of environmental health at the Yakima Health District, states more research needs to be done into the potential impacts before the expansion is approved.
