To combat financial woes and save on storage costs, Funko is about to dump $30 million worth of Pops! in a landfill.

The collectable toy company, Funko, just released its 2022 financial report and the numbers aren’t looking so good. So far, this year, Funko is looking at almost at $50 million loss and one contributing factor to this deficit is that Funko has more inventory than it can store, and rental fees are stacking up.

Funko wrote that it intends to manage inventory to align with operating capacity at its distribution center which is, “expected to result in a write down in the first half of 2023 of approximately $30 to $36 million.”

Which means, Funko plans to dump a ton of Funko product in a landfill and free up rental space to drive down costs of storage.
