Landfill Supervisor Resigns After Landfill Sticks to New Policies

Changes in rules at the Cortland County landfill have led to a number of complaints from residents and waste haulers alike.

Concerns were discussed at the County Highway Committee meeting where it was also announced that landfill Supervisor Tony Bonham will be resigning. Haulers highlighted wait times to be what frustrated them most with the landfill operation, while locals wanted to address the loose litter being left around after escaping from hauler's vehicles. Legislator Joseph Nauseef said the county has no way to police the situation.
