One of the world's largest companies is to step up pressure on its suppliers to curb the amount of waste they send to landfill, in a bid to slash its global waste footprint.
Unilever announced earlier this year that it has secured "zero waste" status for its network of 241 factories around the world, cutting operating costs by around €200m in the process. But the company is now seeking to extend its waste crackdown to its other facilities and its supply chains.
