A new trial conducted by Tesco in conjunction with the environmental charity Hubbub challenged families to reduce food waste.

Fifty-three households participated in the study which encouraged participants to use the freezer and throw less away, practice better meal planning and take cooking classes.

After one month, 94% of participants reported wasting less food. The trial is part of the UK's initiative to halve food waste by 2030.
