Food waste is an enormous problem. Approximately 40 percent of all food produced goes uneaten every year. Food suppliers and restaurants are a big part of the problem.

Choco, an app that provides free order management technology to restaurants and food suppliers in an effort to transition the world to sustainable food systems, is collaborating with three LA restaurants to host an anti-waste pop-up November 19- 21 called Waste is Gold.

The restaurants have created limited-edition menu items that utilize food waste ingredients. The pop-up items can be ordered for outdoor dining or takeout.

Consumers can fight against food waste by supporting restaurants that practice sustainability and by repurposing food at home.
