With very limited landfill space in Greece, different islands are taking different approaches to eliminate excess waste.

The island of Tilos, for example, has proven itself tremendously successful in limiting the amount of waste they produce with a newly launched program. 

Residents now recycle 86 percent of their waste. It is only a matter of getting the other islands of Greece to replicate this model in order to strengthen the waste efforts toward a circular economy on a national level.
