Waste Management broke a recycling record at this year's Iowa State Fair, officials announced Thursday.
The company recycled almost 54 tons of waste during the 11-day Iowa State Fair this year. This beat the previous record of 35 tons set last year, according to a Waste Management news release.
"We continue to set a new standard for recycling each year," Waste Management of Iowa spokeswoman Lisa Disbrow said in the news release. "We're working to change the mindset of fairgoers so that recycling becomes second nature at these events."
