The city of Buffalo's recycling rate is far behind the national average. In an effort to improve that rate, Mayor Byron Brown launched a new campaign on Earth Day 2015 in order to improve those numbers.
The $50,000 campaign is paid for by a recycling grant the city received.
It's called "34 and More."
"Thirty-four percent recycling is right at the national average. Buffalo's goal is to not only meet the national average but to exceed it," Brown said at a Wednesday press conference.
