Four Peaks Brewing Co. is helping its customers recycle effectively by putting informational QR codes on its products.

The company is doing a full rebranding of all its bottles, cans, packaging, and more. On each piece of Four Peaks Brewing’s packaging is a QR code from a woman-owned company called CRIT (Can I Recycle This?).

“So, we partnered with a group called CRIT and they have a great digital location tool that allows consumers to scan a QR code, input their zip code, and it will inform the consumer how they can recycle different levels of packaging,” said Trevor Needle, Marketing Director at Four Peaks Brewing Co.

Four Peaks Brewing is the first company in the United States to put the QR code directly on the bottle.

“We’ll be able to divert, through this message, about 3.5 million pounds of materials between our glass bottles, our aluminum cans, and so, if the more information we can give to our consumers to inform them how to recycle the material out there, we’re going to make a big impact on the environment,” said Needle.
