WCA Waste to Purchase Assets from Emerald Waste

Houston-based WCA Waste Corp. has agreed to buy certain assets from Emerald Waste Services. The assets include two landfills, one transfer station and three hauling operations.
The landfills are located in Mississippi. The transfer station and hauling operations are located in central Florida, and the hauling operations consist of 115 residential, commercial and roll-off routes. The assets consist of 220 employees and bring in approximately $37 million in total revenue, according to WCA Waste.
“We are excited about the acquisition and the opportunities for growth in these market areas,” said Tom J. Fatjo Jr., chairman and CEO of WCA Waste Corp., said in a press release. “We remain focused on growing WCA by acquiring tuck-in operations in our existing markets, and acquiring companies in new markets. We are actively pursuing other acquisition candidates and hope to announced additional transactions in the near future.”
