Man's Body Found in Landfill Identified 17 Years Later

The body of an unidentified man was found in Fall River Landfill seventeen years ago. Due to a push for investigators to close more cold cases, an investigation was launched and the body has been identified as Leon Brown.

Seventeen years ago the body of an unidentified man was found dead in the Fall River Landfill. After a push for investigations of cold cases in Bristol County, the boy was identified. Using advanced fingertip techniques the investigation team was able to tie the body back to a man named Leon Brown. Brown was considered missing prior to this discover since August of 2005.

 

"I am very pleased that we were able to identify Leon Brown, and that his previously unmarked grave will no longer just be an unidentified plot number in the cemetery," said District Attorney Tom Quinn.
