Bishop Road Landfill Owner Must Cleanup or Face Contempt Charge

An unpermitted landfill in South Fulton, Georgia is slated to be closed by 2024.
The decision was made in a court ruling on August 18, 2022, and is set up to have regular check-ins holding the owners accountable or they will face contempt charges. There will be obligatory monthly milestones, with legal repercussions if the milestone is not met. Those living near the landfill celebrated the ruling as they believed their lives were often disrupted by the landfill's smells and fumes.
