Trashspotting

Earlier this month, a landfill spotter spied the body of former Pentagon official John P. Wheeler tumbling from a garbage truck hopper into the Cherry Island Landfill in Wilmington, Del. Ever since, the relatively obscure profession has understandably been getting a lot of press. Case in point, this Philadelphia Inquirer profile, which highlights some key aspects of the job.
