Ford is working with battery recycler Redwood Materials to capture non-virgin materials for its EV batteries.

Analysts expect electric car sales to jump to more than one million by 2025, up from just an estimated 350,000 in 2021.

Other car manufacturers are using recycled products or diverting their waste from landfills.Tesla claims “none of our scrapped lithium-ion batteries go to landfilling, and 100% are recycled," on its website.

GM has entered an agreement with Li-Cycle on recycling efforts.
