MetalX LLC has announced that it has selected a site in Northwest Ohio for its new, $300 million aluminum recycling campus.

The metal recycling business also considered sites in Michigan and Indiana before settling on the 190-acre site in Defiance, Ohio. The site will include an aluminum rolling slab manufacturing plant, a scrap metal shredding and sortation facility, and a dedicated logistics hub.

“This is an outstanding site and met all key criteria for the project, including proximity to sources of scrap supply, ample power, gas, water, and other utilities, mainline rail service, access to major highways, and most importantly a solid workforce environment,” CEO Danny Rifkin said in the news release.

The campus is expected to create 180 new jobs.
