Competition was tough for the re-cycling vehicle division in this year's contest. But one clearly stood out.

"I can't wait to tell my supervisor!" exclaimed Kathy Newell, Conserva-tion Representative for the city of Austin, Texas, solid waste services office, when she found out her entry, this bright blue and white recycling vehicle, had won.

The winning design, including the sailboat scene on the "Austin Re-cycles" logo, is featured on nine of the city's 36 trucks.

More than 125,000 households are served by the truck, manufactured by Lodal.
