Fremont City Council members on Tuesday agreed to settle a dispute with Waste Connections on Nebraska Inc.
Members also agreed to a new one-year contract on the operation of the Transfer and Recycling Station.
At issue were fees the city alleged it was not paid.
In a lawsuit filed Feb. 23, the city alleged that in 2011 and 2012 Waste Connections brought in loads before and after the scales at the Transfer Station were staffed by a city employee. Those loads were not weighed properly and Waste Connection failed to pay for them, the lawsuit stated.
