A common theme around sustainability runs through the work that most of our newly minted Waste360 40 Under 40 winners are doing.

For some, it’s their full-time job to oversee the sustainability efforts of their organizations. For others, it’s part of a larger environmental mission that they are proudly part of. Whether they are haulers or food-waste experts, sustainability is built into their important work.

I am also inspired by the work that these award winners are doing outside of their “day” jobs. Some are living zero-waste lifestyles, many are composters, others are volunteering and mentoring in their communities. They are using their platforms to do good and to make the world a better place.

Please give them a look – and I hope their stories brighten your day. Our future is bright and these young professionals are a testament to that. Cheers to them as they look after our industry and our planet!
