Agru America

Agru America, Kingwood, Texas, manufactures high-density polyethylene (HDPE) Microspike liners using a process that creates a rough surface out of the actual lining material. The resulting profile has a regular series of small spikes integrated with the base liner material for landfill lining and capping, the company says. The Microspike, also available in low-density polyethylene (LDPE), has smooth edges to enable wedge welds to be made between adjacent sheets, according to the company. Features include standard 29-inch-diameter rolls with two slings each, special roll lengths available upon request, and a 40-foot standard container and 48-foot flatbed, each with a 12-roll capacity.

Heavy-duty D-rings are added to facilitate equipment hook-ups, the company says. The cover can be dragged manually or lifted with equipment. The standard size is 48 feet by 50 feet, but custom sizes are available, according to the company.

Donnelly Fabricators, Lawrenceville, Ga., offers Texicon concrete mats in four configurations: filter point lining in which the double-layer fabric form is joined by filter points to form a concrete; vegetated mat; uniform section lining; and articulating block mat. A concrete pump can deliver fine aggregate concrete from as far away as 400 feet (120 meters), according to the company. Mat sizes range from 80 pounds to 150 tons, the company says.

The geonets are made from HDPE resin and are designed to transmit fluids uniformly under many field conditions, the company says. GSE Lining also offers HS and UF Fabrinet geocomposites that are made by laminating nonwoven, needlepunched geotextiles to a layer of GSE Hypernet. UF has a 300-mils-thick layer, and HS has a 275-mils layer. Both versions can be ordered in a mass per unit range of 6 to 16 ounces per square yard, according to the company.
