Digital Product Passports Optimize Recycling

R-Cycle is an organization started by several companies working in the plastic life cycle with the goal of making the industry more seamless and circular. The organization created "product passports" that can be assigned to different packaging types and lay out the information needed to recycle them easily and properly.

Currently, only 9 percent of plastics are recycled worldwide. R-Cycle plans to bring this number up by partnering with more companies — as they recently did with Side, a global packaging solutions company — to make plastic products more recyclable, and recycling systems more equipt for different kinds of plastic recycling.
