The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), Silver Spring, Md. — in conjunction with Florida-based consulting firm Jones Edmunds and Associates Inc. — is in the process of updating its Manager of Landfill Operations (MOLO) training course and certification exam and has issued a survey to solicit recommendations from landfill professionals. The association's stated goal is “to refine the course content based on comments of SWANA members and to include up-to-date information on issues of concern to landfill operators.”
In addition to ranking a series of items based on their importance to a landfill operator, participants also are asked during the survey to share their thoughts and opinions on the course. The survey, which takes about 20 minutes to complete, can be found by visiting the “Educate: Certification: Landfill” section of SWANA's Web site, www.swana.org.
