Developer to Build RV Park on Former Landfill in Arvada, Colo.

Residents of Arvada, Colo. recently received notices that an RV park would be built on a former landfill.

Neighbors in the area are fighting project, which was approved without any public hearings. Not only would the project be built adjacent to a creek, residents are concerned that hazardous materials could be disturbed during construction.

The site, which was about 14 acres, closed in the 1970s. A report indicated that soil tests deemed it "unstable for development.
