N.E. Hauler Enters Guilty Plea

In an ongoing probe into the trash industry in parts of Connecticut and New York, Jason Manafort pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to destruction of property to prevent its seizure.

According to a report by the Dansbury, Conn., NewsTimes, Manafort, owner of the Plainville, Conn; based hauler CWPM, admitted he removed and discarded a computer from his office before authorities could seize it. Manafort is among the 23 people to admit wrongdoing in a racketeering case against Connecticut businessman James Galante.

Manafort is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 30 for sentencing and faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
