Proposed Chicken Waste to Energy Plant in Wicomico County, Md.

A New Hampshire based energy company is looking at Wicomico County as the location for a brand new plant that would turn chicken manure into energy.  And that company, AgEnergy USA has already partnered with Perdue on the plan.

AgEnergy USA would construct the $200 million plant and Perdue would supply the plant with feedstock, or chicken litter, that would be converted into energy.  The plant would also extract the nitrogen from the manure that could be sold back to farmers to use as fertilizer.
