Palm Beach County's New Incinerator Nears Completion

The first fires are burning atĀ Palm Beach County's new waste-to-energy incinerator.

Initial test burning started Feb. 24 at the $670 million incinerator, which burns garbage and generates electricity added to the local power grid.

Periodic testing during the next few months is expected to turn into full-time burning in June, when work on the new incinerator is supposed to be complete.
