Three-Alarm Fire Ignites at Omaha's First Star Recycling Facility

Seventy firefighters assisted in a blaze that began on Wednesday night at First Star Recycling in Omaha, Neb.

The fire began at 10:30 p.m., with a Mayday alert issued just an hour later for a fire captain who became separated from his hose. In a partnership with the city, First Star has recently begun using plastics collected from residents to produce plastic lumber and other products.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
