Spokane's Recycling Rates Higher than State Average

The City of Spokane continues to expand its participation in recycling with a new goal for 2020, according to officials.

According to reports, Spokane ranks fairly high in regards to recycling, compared to the state average. Yet, there are still many people in the area who do not recycle and that is often because they do not have the option to.

Kris Major works for the City of Spokane. She said recycling is optional for apartments and multi-family residences.
