Six Universities to Receive Grants from NIST for Plastic Reduction Education

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) announced this week that, as part of the Training for Improve Plastic Circulatory Grant Program, is awarding around $3 million to six universities.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) announced this week that, as part of the Training for Improve Plastic Circulatory Grant Program, is awarding around $3 million to six universities.

The grants will go towards creating educational programs that focus on reducing plastic waste. NIST mentions that the grants will support different angels of education such as economics, materials science and business, and different kinds of engineering.

Auburn University, Hawaii Pacific University, Penn State University, the University of Houston, the University of South Alabama, and the University of Toledo are receiving the grants, each getting up to $500,000.
