Genesee County, Mich. has announced its plans to create a state-of-the-art facility to provide recycling services and education to the community.

Officials announced its plans earlier this week after the Genesee County Board of Commissioners approved $650,000 to demolish a previously closed building that was deemed a safety hazard.

The new facility will serve as a centralized location for drop-off recycling and will be an educational resource for the community. The facility will work to provide information on the benefits of recycling and sustainability.
