Fat Cat Recycling Owner Arrested After Stolen Vehicles Recovered

The owner of Fat Cat Recycling in Merced, Calif. was arrested following a compliance check.

Forty-year old Carl Means was jailed on suspicion of a stolen vehicle. Merced Police say there have been a pattern of catalytic converter thefts in the area, which led to the compliance check.

A dump truck, forklift and catalytic converters were found on the property. Recyclers in the area pay from $200 to $500 per catalytic converter. Another recent investigation uncovered $700,000 in stolen property.
