A perpetual motion machine sounds great but impossible because it violates the laws of nature. Zero waste also sounds great. But, is it like a perpetual motion machine? Distilled to its essence, all material will flow through a circular economy with no residuals to be managed, either by land, air or water. Resources are conserved. Is that realistic? Or is it a wonderful fantasy? What can be realistically achieved and how can we use a "satisficing" approach to get the best outcome?
