Zero Waste: Fantasy or Reality? (Zero Waste/Resource Recovery) (WasteExpo 2019)

May 29, 2019

A perpetual motion machine sounds great but impossible because it violates the laws of nature. Zero waste also sounds great. But, is it like a perpetual motion machine? Distilled to its essence, all material will flow through a circular economy with no residuals to be managed, either by land, air or water. Resources are conserved. Is that realistic? Or is it a wonderful fantasy? What can be realistically achieved and how can we use a "satisficing" approach to get the best outcome?

Speakers: Scott Burns, Procter & Gamble (retired) and Xavier University
