Large Fire Burns at Modesto Recycling Center

A large fire burned at a recycling center in south Modesto. Units from Stanislaus, Modesto and Ceres responded to battle the fire.

According to Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District battalion chief Rick Bussell, the fire blazed the outside of the recycling facility where there were high piles of recyclables like plastic and drip irrigation.

Currently there were eight engines, two ladder trucks and 40 firefighters fighting the fire. The fire was under control, according to Bussell.
