Managing a drug and alcohol testing program is harder than you may think. Companies within the waste and recycling industry have designated employee representatives (DERs) who help ensure they remain complaint with the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Regulations 49 CFR Part 40 and 382. But how do they do that, and how do you become a DER? In this session, you’ll learn the DER definition under the DOT and a DER’s responsibilities, what’s included in the regulations, the lifecycle of drug testing, the steps to bringing employees with a positive test back to work and more. Come prepared to participate in some roleplaying of real-life scenarios.
