Missing Wedding Ring Found at Yakima, Washington Landfill

By accident, Yakima resident Andrea Castro, threw the box containing her new wedding band in the trash just as she and her fiancé were on their way to take engagement pictures.  

After realizing the mistake, Castro called the trash company right away. It was too late to stop the truck, but workers at the landfill used Castro’s address to determine where on the station floor her garbage had most likely ended up. 

Castro and county maintenance technicians spent an hour looking through the trash before they found the ring. 

With each truck carrying four to seven tons of compacted garbage, it is no small feat to find a small ring box in a large amount of garbage.
