Goldman Sachs Launches its First Sustainability Bond

Goldman Sachs has launched its first Sustainability bond. The $800 million offering is under the company’s Sustainable Issuance Framework. All of the proceeds will be allocated toward projects and initiatives aimed at accelerating climate transition and advancing inclusive growth.

Eligible green project categories include Clean Energy, Sustainable Transport, Sustainable Food & Agriculture, Waste and Materials and Ecosystem Services, while eligible social project categories include Accessible and Innovative Healthcare, Financial Inclusion, Accessible and Affordable Education and Communities.

Sustainability bonds are one of the fastest growing categories of the sustainable finance market.
