Industrial Excess Landfill Dioxane is Entering Ohio Waterways

In Stark County Ohio, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is investigating the impact of groundwater on the area's drinking water.

1,4 dioxane has been discovered in at least seven properties that have been connected to municipal water sources. The EPA says the "unacceptably high results" near the Industrial Excess Landfill.

Dioxane is referred to as an "emerging contaminant."
