Hamblen County's former solid waste director has been indicted for stealing nearly $228,000 in public funds by padding his own paycheck, misusing a departmental credit card and paying off personal debt, authorities said.
Ronald L. Brady Jr., 49, was indicted by a Hamblen County grand jury on one count of theft of more than $60,000 Monday.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation began investigating Brady in June 2014 following a state audit.
