An engineer and business owner is looking to get a smartphone refurbishment and recycling center in Egypt in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

An engineer and business owner is looking to get a smartphone refurbishment and recycling center in Egypt in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

Samuel Mathias, electronics engineer and business owner, is leading the charge to get a €100 million smartphone refurbishment and recycling plant. Soha Gendi, Egypt’s Minister of Egyptian expatriates affairs and emigration has met with Mathias and Hossam Haiba, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, to create a smooth setup process.

It is also believed a key global communications technology company from Frace is in on the recycling project. The €100 million investment should pass in the next two years.
