Sweet City Landfill Suit Goes Before Georgia Supreme Court

The Supreme Court of Georgia is expected to hear the case regarding the proposed Sweet City Landfill.

It is a result of Elbert County appealing a ruling from the Elbert County Superior Court, which issued an order saying that the county’s solid waste ordinance violated the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution.

The county’s attorneys argue the trial court made a number of mistakes, beginning with the denial of the county’s motion to dismiss the case.
