A Green Bay, Wis. business is helping the community and other businesses cut down on food waste with an easy way to compost.

Greener Bay Compost, originally launched in 2021, serves almost 200 members and a handful of businesses.

“We use simple five-gallon buckets branded with our logo with compostable liners and some wood shavings inside,” says Cory Groshek, Greener Bay Compost CEO.

We give those buckets to our residential and commercial subscribers. They fill them up over the course of a week, or two or four, with all the materials we accept, and then we come, swap that out for a new clean bucket, and then we put those buckets back in circulation.”

Greener Bay Compost allows customers to choose between different subscription-like models. Residents can pay $15 per month to have buckets picked up every four weeks or $25 per month for pick up every other week.
