Waste Management Reports Q3 Net Income of $30 Million

Houston -- Waste Management Inc. has reported net income of $30 million for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, 2001, compared with a net loss of $191 million for the same quarter last year. On a pro forma basis, after adjusting for unusual costs and certain other items including a class-action lawsuit, third quarter net income was $226 million, compared with pro forma net income of $208 million for the same quarter last year. Revenues for the quarter were $2.9 billion, compared with revenues of $3.12 billion for the same quarter last year.
