Acquisitions

  • CP Manufacturing, National City, Calif., has acquired Nashville, Tenn.-based MSS Inc., a manufacturer of automated sorting systems for the waste and recycling industry. MSS will operate as a subsidiary of CP Manufacturing.

  • Abbott Enterprises, Pine Buff, Ark., has acquired Concord, Calif.-based Sigmanetics, a manufacturer of converters, speedometers and generators.



Alliances

  • Peterson Pacific Corp., Eugene, Ore., has formed an alliance with Aurora, Ill.-based Con-Way Logistics Inc. to stock Peterson parts at Con-Way's distribution center in Mira Loma, Calif. The Mira Loma distribution center will stock spare parts plus certain wear parts.

  • Recycle America Alliance (RAA), Houston, has joined Richmond, Calif.-based Sims Group USA to provide de-manufacturing services for materials collected or managed by Recycle America Alliance in Central and Northern California.



In Memoriam

  • Dwain Musselwhite, the parts and service manager for Harris Waste Management Group, Peachtree City, Ga., died July 4, 2003. He was 55. Musselwhite was based in Cordele, Ga., and had worked for Harris since 1968 when he was hired as a draftsman for the parts catalog. He managed the parts department since 1985.
