SWANA Wins ASAE Award for LFG Advocacy

Silver Spring, Md. -- The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) has received the Gold Circle Award for best single issue lobbying campaign from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) for its efforts in landfill gas advocacy.

Recently, SWANA helped place landfill gas tax incentives in Congressional bills H.R. 4 (Tauzin, R-La.), H.R. 1863 (Camp, R-Mich.), S. 596 (Bingaman, D-N.M.), S. 389 (Murkowski, R-Ark.) and in President Bush's national energy policy. H.R. 4 has been passed by the House of Representatives and has been referred to the Senate for consideration.
