U.S. Conference Of Mayors To Hold Can Recycling Contest

Washington, D.C., and Montreal — The Washington, D.C.-based U.S. Conference of Mayors and Montreal-based Alcan Inc., a manufacturer of aluminum products, will conduct a recycling competition this November. The competition is designed to encourage cities to promote aluminum can recycling. Cash prizes of $5,000 each will be awarded to the cities that collect the most can during the first two weeks of November and also to those that design the most innovative programs to promote can recycling.
