Two Oregon Landfills Fined by State Environmental Agency

Two landfills have been cited by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality for violations.

The first, located in Grants Pass, was operating without a permit. The DEQ cited operators David James and Nancy Scott $24,000 for accepted wood waste, yard debris and other solid waste.

Riverbend Landfill in McMinnville failed to collect and control leachate, receiving $17,400 in penalties. This is not the first time the cite has received a violation.
