Most people don’t think to clean their trash cans but this teenager from Houston is getting a lot of attention with a new business where he does just that.

Anthony Gonzalez, a 13-year-old from Houston, Texas has been getting a lot of notoriety amongst his community on Facebook where he posts about his new business where he cleans trash cans.

"First I thought it really wouldn’t be that hard to clean [trashcans]," said 13-year-old Anthony Gonzalez. "That changed as soon as I saw the first one."

Gonzalez’s business, The Garbage Kid, charges $10 per trashcan. Gonzalez calls himself a perfectionist when it comes to cleaning the waste buckets, usually spending 30 to 40 minutes to clean one.

"I take it really serious," said Gonzalez. "I’ve got to clean it thoroughly."

Through Facebook, Gonzalez has built up a nice customer base, estimating that he has cleaned more than 50 garbage cans so far. The Facebook page for The Garbage Kid is regularly posting before and after photos of the cleaned trash cans.

But Gonzalez isn’t doing this as a summer job to make some extra cash himself. He is using his profits to buy sports equipment for other children in the area. Supporting kids in need is his motivation.

"That’s my main goal," said Gonzalez. "To help kids in need. [To] help kids in Houston."
